Water carries the resonance of all sounds. It is thought that water, wind, and the drone-like sounds of the humming of the earth all carry a special sound that has been called HU. This an ancient name for God or Creation. It represents the energy of the soul and carries great significance in helping us align to our primal spirit. Because all bodies of moving water carry this HU sound, most people feel very invigorated when they visit the ocean or naturally running water.
If you listen deeply while near water, you will hear the undertones of this harmonic hum. If you get still and listen to the natural world, this hum will permeate your hearing consciousness. It is thought that sound is the first energy humans first perceived.
The resonance of water sounds and music notes are absorbed by the organs, tissue, and consciousness and become charged with that energy. Every part of the body communicates with the totality of the body through sound and water. This process helps the body to maintain its necessary functions and stimulates vital expression in the form of growth.
The best music for healing will always be a person's natural voice. Certain notes stimulate certain body parts. Opposite notes are often used to reduce too much energy going to a specific area. The extremes of too much energy, or not enough, are typically how illness begins. Therefore, regulating your body each day with the sounds of water and music help maintain balance.
You can heal yourself by using vocal tones alone, as long as your tones are accurate for the body part you wish to work on. In addition to physical stimulation, music notes also activate spiritual energy centers associated with the body, called the Chakras. This term means "turning," and this is what energy does as it enters the physical form. It turns in a vortex fashion from Source to where the particular frequency affects the body. If you want a mental image to go with this explanation, think of water going down a drain. It spirals in a tight vortex – except that the energy is coming into the body and not going out. The ancient chakra locations also correspond to the endrocrine system. Most conventional western medical practiioners don't acknowledge the existence of the chakras, even though there has been thousands of years of proof of their existence.
Whether you acknowledge the chakras or the western model of medicine, sound crosses the boundaries of both, with the key being to really listen to – not just hear – the sound. The process of placing your attention on the sound promotes attunement and healing.
Healing with the Chakras, Sound and Water
The creation of music using particular scales (a collection of specific notes) can also heal and stimulate new growth and transformation in specific areas of consciousness. Many composers offer healing music CDs that use the sounds of water with their music. However when we use specific music scales that correspond to the physical body, activate the Chakras, and honor Earth Elements together, or in a sqquence, the energy that is generated is powerful medicine to enhance healing both on a personal cellular level and within the cosmic influence. Dr. Masaru Emoto experimented with sounds to heal the toxins in water and his results were impressive. Others have experimented with using water as a carrier for mass consciousness. The results have been amazing. We can heal ourselves, and we can also heal the Earth.
The Chakras
The 7-Chakra System has been used almost exclusively by Hindu yogis and healers for the past several centuries. Empowered by the resonance of billions of believers, past and present, it has also been the system of choice for the New Age, since it is simple to remember and color renditions of the energy centers correlate to a rainbow spectrum. However, that system is slowly being augmented by the presence of five other energy centers connecting the human body to infinite spirit. As human consciousness evolves, so does the ability to open these higher chakra centers. Once the lower seven chakras are fully open, the gateway to the others becomes open. The 12-Chakra system has great relevance to the chromatic music scale, (the 12 notes to the right) and to water frequencies, and is the preferred Chakra System for sound and water healing by The Spirit of Water.
